Grandpa

My maternal grandfather

This is another layout I did using paper from Prima's Timeless Memories collection.

Timeless Memories - Timeless
Timeless Memories - Everlast

I used chipboard pieces by ScrapFx, Dusty Attic, 2Crafty and Blue Fern Studios.

Dusty Attic - Cog Frame Set

Dusty Attic - Cogs 2
Blue Fern Studios - Working Parts
ScrapFx - Mini Cogs

2Crafty - French Lace Border

The chipboard pieces were painted with a sponge dabber, adding different colours of brown and gray. I then added random splotches of clear Rock Candy Crackle Paint, rubbed over top with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and wiped off the excess with a damp paper towel.  I didn't like how glossy the crackle looked so I sprayed all the pieces with Krylon Low Odour Clear Matte Finish.  To make them pop off the page more I also applied dark brown marker around the edges of the chipboard.

I didn't like the dark colour I had painted the French Lace Border so I inked over it and then embossed it with Antique Linen Distress Embossing Powder.

Some of the cogs were die cut from different coloured metal sheets.  I also sprayed these with the matte spray to tone down the shine and dabbed them lightly and randomly with paint for a more rustic look.  I embossed the center of the large gear with an embossing folder.

I cut the rectangular die-cut from the Timeless Memories - Everlast paper using a Cheery Lynn Designs die.

At the corners (inside the large cog pieces) I stamped more gears with the Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.

Thanks for taking a look!
