Elizabeth and John's Engagement

My maternal grandparents' engagement photo taken around 1917

For this layout I used Blue Fern Studios papers for the background and some of the die-cuts.

BFS Sanctuary - Bountiful
BFS Serendipity - Anticipation

These are the dies I used:

Spellbinders
Captivating Squares
Cheery Lynn Designs
Japanese Garden Lace Oval
Spellbinders
Timeless Rectangles
Prima
Parisian Lace
Tattered Lace
Ferns
Cheery Lynn Designs
Flourish #13

As usual I layered all the die-cuts over a darker version and offset them slightly to accentuate the edges.

This is the chipboard piece I used:

Dusty Attic - Fancy Trim #7

I painted it white and embossed it with Weathered Wood Distress Embossing Powder.

The lace pieces are from an Etsy store called Tresors de Luxe

GL-158

The brown border at the top right and lower left of the photo was an old transparency frame I had in my stash.  It was too small to fit around the photo so I cut it diagonally and covered the gaps with strategically placed flowers and die-cuts.

The flowers are a mixture of Prima and Little Birdie Crafts.

Thank you so much for taking a look!

Evan after his Bath

My son Evan in 2000

For this layout I used a piece of  Prima paper for the background and a couple of Kaisercraft papers for some of the die-cuts.

Prima
Timeless Memories - Moments

Kaisercraft
These Days - History
Kaisercraft
These Days -  Reunion

I did some stencilling on the background with Faber-Castell whipped spackle that I coloured with various Gelatos (I rubbed the Gelatos on my craft mat and mixed them into the spackle with a palette knife).

Prima stencil - Decor

I also did some punching around the border of the paper, applied pieces of washi tape and inked around the edges with Iced Spruce Distress Ink.

These are the punch and dies I used:

These are the chipboard pieces I used:

Blue Fern Studios
Blue Fern Flourish
Dusty Attic
Fancy Trim #7

I tried a couple of different embossing powders on the Blue Fern Flourish but didn't like how they looked so I embossed it with Brushed Corduroy Distress Embossing Powder.  Normally it would have a slightly rougher, more matte looking finish but the layers of glossy embossing powder underneath kind of mixed slightly with the top layer as it was heated.

The Fancy Trim #7 pieces were heat-embossed with Antique Linen Distress Embossing Powder.

The little metal yellow flowers were a bright yellow that I didn't like so I painted them with Agate Vintaj Patina paint and then brushed them with Parthenay Artisan Powder.

The other flowers are a mixture of Little Birdie Crafts and 49 and Market.

Thank you so much for taking a look!

Fishing

My brother and eldest sister in 1962

For this layout I used two pieces of a Blue Fern Studios paper for the background and doily die-cut.

Timeless - Keepsakes
(I used the back side)

I inked around the edges of the paper with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink using a Clarity stencil brush.

These are the dies I used:

Large Sunflower Doily

Carnivale Border

I die-cut the Carnivale border out of Coredinations cardstock, tore the ends and sanded them to reveal some of the darker core that blended somewhat into the background paper.

These are the chipboard pieces I used:
Dusty Attic
Gum Trees
Blue Fern Studios
Calligraphic Border

I primed the gum trees and applied white Viva Decor crackle paint.  When that was dry I brushed them with Prima Parthenay Artisan Powder, wiped off the excess and painted them with Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays Buccaneer Bronze and Greased Lightnin' Green.

I painted the Calligraphic Border brown and then glued a I'm A Maized Prills on top using Artquest Perfect Paper Adhesive.

The fish was made with a mold and Sculpey Ultra Light, painted grey and then misted with the Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays Buccaneer Bronze and Greased Lightnin' Green.

The leaves and most of the flowers are by 49 and Market.

The small canvas flowers were a gift from a friend. Thanks Lisa!
