John and Mary

My great-grandparents

For this layout of my great-grandparents, I used 49 and Market papers from their Scents of Nature and Heirloom Botanicals collections.

Scents of Nature - Clockworks (back)

These are the dies I used:

Spellbinders
Romantic Rectangles 2
Spellbinders
Timeless Rectangles
Cheery Lynn Designs
Flourish #13

I traced around the leaves and along the veins of the Flourish #13 die-cuts with a grey marker to make them stand out more.  The other die-cuts were layered over a darker version to accentuate the edges.

The chipboard piece was inked and embossed with Weathered Wood Distress Embossing powder, re-inked and sprinkled lightly and embossed again with Walnut Stain Distress Embossing powder.  I then painted the flowers to try to match the one on the lower left of the background paper.

Flourish Medley

I rubbed the decorative buttons with Rose Gold Art Alchemy Metallique Wax.

The flowers are all by 49 and Market from their Vintage Shades (ecru and sage colours) and Garden Bloom (pale lavender) collections

Thank you so much for taking a look!

  1. Beautiful! You really brought out the color tones in the paper so well with the embellishment choices. Sure love the pretty buttons!
