Birds of a Feather

I'm here today with my 4th project for Scraps of Elegance using the beautiful June kit, "Birds of a Feather", that features paper from BoBunny's Serendipity collection.

I ripped two of the corners off the Serendipity paper (from the kit) that I used as the background and inked around the edges.  I then glued the Serendipity paper to the striped Life paper from the kit and slid a couple of doily die-cuts (cut from cream coloured cardstock from my stash) under the ripped edges.

On the background I did some random stamping with pink ink using the 49 and Market stamp, Script Squared, from the Elements Add-on.

The frame around the photo was cut with a die out of the Branches paper and layered over a darker copy that I cut from brown cardstock from my stash. I then cut a mat out of the striped Life paper to layer on top and glued the photo on top of that.

The leaves were also made using a die and the Aryia's Garden Delightful paper from the kit.

These are the dies I used:

Cheery Lynn Designs
Canadian Kaleidoscope Doily
Spellbinders
Triple Floral
Cheery Lynn Designs
Flourish #13

I then added the embellishments.  The white daisies and the buttons were from my stash.  All the other embellishments are from the kit and add-ons.

Great Grandma's Steps

I'm back with my third project for Scraps of Elegance with their beautiful June Kit, "Birds of a Feather".

Patterned Paper Add-on

I used the "Love" paper from BoBunny's Serendipity collection that is included in the kit as the background.  The greens and blues go nicely with the photo of my boys when they were younger. I did some punching around the edges to add interest.  I used a second sheet of it from the Patterned Paper Add-on  to die-cut the rectangular pieces layered under the sides of the photo.

The green of the kit's "Delightful" paper from BoBunny's Aryia's Garden matched perfectly with the the background so I used it under the punched edges, to die-cut leaves and make some little layered die-cut flowers.

These are the dies and punch I used:

Canadian Kaleidoscope Tiny Doily

Memory Box

Flourish #13

The mat under the photo and the brown leaves were die cut from kraft paper and the little doily from cream cardstock from my stash.  The white and brown flowers, the coconut buttons and chipboard border under the photo were also from my stash.

All the other embellishments were from the kit and add-ons.  I love all the coordinating chipboard and die-cut pieces with the green butterflies.

The Perfect Day

This is my second project for Scraps of Elegance with their June Kit, "Birds of a Feather".  I used the Main Kit, the Elements Add-on and the Floral Add-on.

I started with the beautiful "Flight" paper from BoBunny's Serendipity collection (included in the main kit).  I cut a piece of fishing net from my stash, glued it to the paper and added the die-cuts to the background.  The doily die-cuts were made from cream cardstock and the brown leaves from kraft paper in my stash.  The rectangular die-cuts were cut from the Serendipity "Love" paper included in the kit while the green leaves were made from BoBunnny's "Delightful" paper from their Aryia's Garden collection (also included in the kit).  I layered the large die-cuts over a dark version, offsetting them slightly to accentuate the edges and traced around the green leaves and along the veins to make them stand out more.

These are the dies I used:

Spring Flower Burst Doilly
Tattered Lace

Flourish #13

The chipboard border under the photo was from my stash.  I coated it with heavy gesso and then rubbed it with Distress Ink, Mermaid Lagoon which is included in the kit.

I then applied the other embellishments, all from the kit.  I particularly liked the little glass bottles that I filled with sand, Prills and some small pebbles.

I finished by adding random blobs of sand-gold structure paste from my stash around the layout and pressed in some iridescent blue bubbles by Queen & Co. from the kit.

Big Sister

This is my first ever project for Scraps of Elegance using the June kit, Birds of a Feather.  I used the Main Kit as well as the Floral and Elements add-ons.  The main kit features paper from BoBunny's Serendipity collection.  I think it goes perfectly with this old photo of my husband's grandmother and two of her younger siblings.

I used the back of the Serendipity Treetops paper from the main kit as the background, distressed the edges and glued it onto the striped Life paper.

On the background I did some stenciling with molding paste and misted and splattered with a pink spray.  I then used grey ink with the 49 and Market stamp, "Script Squared", from the kit on the background.

I used the Serendipity Branches paper from the kit for the die-cut frame, layering it over a dark brown copy and offsetting it slightly to accentuate the edges.

The larger flowers are from the Floral Add-on, the chipboard nest from the Elements Add-on and the mini butterflies, die-cut flowers and bird houses from the Main Kit.  The daisies and the lace were from my stash.
